SOUND FILE: Steve did these sound files personally. The first half of the sound file was recorded using Vic Firth AJ6 sticks and the second section was done using a heavier 5A to give you a sense of the difference.
In NY and Chicago. NY: 212-730-8138 for info. Chicago: Call Steve at 630-865-6849. This is the Craviotto Diamond Series snare for 2009. 5.5x14 and 6.5x14. The shell is hand made by Adrian Kirchler, master metal shell craftsman, and it is pure copper. These shells are designed by Adrian to replicate the shell design of the famous 20s era Ludwig metal shells. His Craviotto brass shell drum for 2008 was a tremendous work of art, and this copper drum is no exception. The copper shell creates even more warmth than the brass. The copper has a natural rose colored patina to it that is beautiful. Additionally, Adrian has created a special Craviotto version of the vintage "3 point" snare strainer exclusively for this drum. Steve played the prototypes at NAMM 09 and they are truly remarkable. Sensitivity and projection are superb, and the warmth of the copper shell is remarkable. Steve ordered 19 of these drums. Serial #1 of each of these sizes will go into Steve's personal collection alongside serial #1 of both sizes of the 2008 brass shell Diamond Series drums. The 2009 Diamond Series copper drums will be limited to 50 drums in each size. $2250 for the 5.5x14. $2275 for the 6.5x14.
