| MaxwellDrums are built by hand for us here in the USA by one of the finest custom drum builders in the industry. All shells are USA made Keller shells and the bearing edges are custom cut to provide the vintage sound so highly sought after in the classic jazz drums of the 50s and 60s. In addition, we have tried to capture a true vintage look for these sets that is combined with modern features for greater flexibility.
We have several standard configurations as shown below, but you can select from many sizes:
Snares: 12, 13, 14 inch in various depths
Toms: 7x8, 7x10, 8x10, 8x12, 9x13, 10x14
Floor toms: 13x13, 14x14, 16x16, 16x18
Bass drums: 14x16, 16x16, 14x18, 14x20, 14x22, 14x24
Additionally, many different finish options are available including vintage white marine pearl (which has a beautiful, slightly aged appearance), traditional white marine pearl, black diamond pearl, silver glitter, gold glitter, our twilight glitter, and many, many more.
Cymbal stands, snare stands, hi hat stands and bass drum pedals are available. We highly recommend the DW flat based stand series as an ideal option for our kits, or the great lightweight hardware from Canopus. Both are high quality and very portable. Additionally, they are very reminiscent of the hardware design used in the 50s-60s, which provides an excellent visual compliment for these sets.
