Danny Gottlieb is not only a world class drummer and educator, but he is also a close personal friend. Danny's credentials are incredible and he's a superb educator and performer. Danny and I share a common admiration for our old friend Joe Morello, and Danny's history with Joe goes back many many years. Recently, Danny asked us to broker the sale of many items that he has used over the years including cymbals as well as some drums. These are all items used by Danny over the years and would be an excellent addition to your collection of fine instruments. We're very pleased to be able to offer these items to you.

BIOGRAPHY

Danny Gottlieb is one of the most popular drummers in jazz and contemporary music. While best known as the drummer in the original Pat Metheny Group, Danny, during the past 30 years, has performed and recorded with some of the world's greatest musicians. They include: Bobby McFerrin, Sting, Chick Corea, Gil Evans, Gary Burton, John Mclaughlin, Stan Getz, Jeff Berlin, Pat Metheny, David Byrne, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry, Al Di Meola, The Blues Brothers Band, Booker T and the MG’s, Lew Soloff, and many more. He is featured on more than 300 CDs to date,including four Grammy Award Winners.

In addition to his career as a performing and recording artist, Danny is also an Associate Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville (unf.edu). He has released 10 educational drum DVDs, (including three with long time teacher, the legendary Joe Morello entitled “Natural Drumming”), and co-authored a text “The Drummer’s Workbook” with Michael Green, published by the Mel Bay Company. Danny and his wife, percussionist Beth Gottlieb, are members of Gary Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band (ltdanband.com), and perform 30-40 concerts per year around the world, 75% of which are benefit concerts for the USO and the US Military. They have performed at Walter Reed Hospital, The Pentagon, 29 Palms, Luke AFB, Camp Pendleton, Great Lakes Naval base, and many more.
