SOLD IN 2 HOURS. In our Naperville, IL store. This is something that comes along once in a blue moon. This is absolutely the finest example of rare Gretsch peacock sparkle we have ever seen. Peacock sparkle is exceedingly rare and examples almost never surface, and if they do, they are not in this condition. This finish is superbly vibrant. For those unfamiliar with this color it is one of the rarest of all finishes. It is somewhat similar to champagne sparkle from a distance, however, peacock has bits of red, green, silver, and pink. We have handled a few examples in the past, but this one is truly the finest example of this color we have ever seen. Virtually no fading, as you can see from the photo where the lug has been removed. All colors sparkle and are vibrant. 6.5x14 snare drum with first version die cast rims ( what we call "die cast stick choppers"), 6 ply shell, silver sealer interior. Microsensitive strainer with single post butt plate. Microsensitive strainer works perfectly. Tension knob on the butt plate is frozen but probably fixable. If not, a replacement can be found. Classic transition era drum circa 57-58. Chrome is very good. Rims are in nice shape and may be just slightly out of round due to age but they work fine. Shell has a tight fit with Remo. Resonant head is a new Remo and the batter head easily fits Aquarian American Vintage which is what we put on there. Replacement snare wires and washers. This is a rarity that you won't see again.
