We're pleased to announce the addition of Jim Beier's great Beier custom 2mm 6.5x14 brass snare drum to our line of custom snare drums.  Jim operates a small boutique business and focuses on building high quality drums at affordable prices. His fantastic 6.5x14  2mm brass shell snare offers many excellent features including a welded 2mm brass shell weighing 12.5 lbs; superb workmanship and finish; lowered air vent for superior air flow through the shell; triple flanged rims, tube lugs, carbon steel 20 strand wire and a simple and effective throw off. 

The sound of this shell is brighter than the 20s era Ludwig heavy brass shell sound, but the drum has plenty of warmth and character, and it really cuts! This is an excellent drum for rock, fusion, funk, and latin music, and  also for big band drumming. For Steve, Jim uses Remo coated Ambassador batter heads and Remo Ambassador snare heads. Steve's personal drum is tuned for big band use and the projection, sensitivity and response are incredible. This drum is a tremendous value at $399.
