Thelonius Monk gives a drum lesson in 1960!

A dear friend of ours sent this along and we want to share it with you. She got it from Jamey Abersold, and it just goes to show you that drum lessons aren't always given by drummers. What you see below are the hand written notes of a drummer (not sure who), who had a lesson with Thelonius Monk. There's a lot of wisdom in here, and more than a touch of humor. Enjoy!

5/09 Update: Several folks have written to us indicating that the text below is actually from the hand written notes of the late Steve Lacey, who played tenor, alto and soprano sax and was seriously devoted to Monk. Thanks to all for your info!
