An absolutely amazing Craviotto solid walnut drum set in our Illinois store. This is set #695 and it is absolutely stunning. The set has an 8x12, 9x13, 14x14, 16x16, 14x22 and 6x14 snare and the entire set has wood hoops (NOTE:  If you want them, we will also send you a complete set of metal triple flange tom and snare rims plus the tension rods for those, since the rods used for the wood hoops and claws need to be longer than those used for the triple flange rims. Just let us know). The set has 45/45 edges. This entire set came from the same wood batch and from the "heartwood". The sound of walnut sits between the brighter woods such as maple and cherry, and the warmest woods such as mahogany, beech and poplar. Nice warmth but with a good "edge" to the sound,  with superb tuning range and projection. Craviotto satin oil finish. No stains, no veneers here, just solid wood boards and Mother Nature's work (along with the masterful steam bending and finish work of the Craviotto team of course). Wood hoops change the sound of the drums quite a bit. My best definition is that the sound is "airy" and more "organic" given that we're not dealing with any metal hoops here. Really wonderful.
