This is a superb Sabian AA 17" Thin crash cymbal weighing 1116 grams. $145
These Sabian AAs are all hand selected by me personally at the Sabian factory. These cymbals are the epitomy of the old A Zildjian sound from the 50s and 60s and they are absolutely superb. These are all hand selected and they also have no ink, which means they have the Sabian logo stamped into the metal, but no other ink on the cymbal, which gives them the look of New Old Stock 50s-60s As. These cymbals are a fabulous bargain at the price. They are so good that I hand picked my own set and retired my set of old As that I built up over the years since these were even better. Absolutely superb. And, if you like, I will hand pick a sonically matched set for you as I have done for several players.
The cymbals I have selected are ones that are superb for small combo up to big band jazz. They will be lighter in weight and have lots of color in the rides, with good stick definition. The crashes will respond quickly and easily and "get out of the way" fast. The thin weight allows for a quick, shimmering crash that doesn't over power the music. The high hats have a medium weight that will have superb 2 and 4 "chik" while also allowing a smooth feel and sound that works well for these applications. These are not off-the-shelf heavy AAs that you find in most shops. These are superb cymbals for jazz players. Steve Maxwell
