Zildjian 16" K. Istanbul 1950s Hi-Hats 1105 / 1145g
This is a pair of Old Stamp IIIb (1953-1956) Zildjian 16" K. Istanbul hats, weighing in at 1105 & 1145g. The first thing to note is that the top cymbal has four small cracks, and one decent crack coming from the center hole. The center holes on these two cymbals are about 10mm (compared to today's 13mm holes). If you wanted to grind out these center holes to 13mm, you would allow them to fit on modern hi-hat stands, while simultaneously removing a good portion of the crack damage. One of them seems like it would be removed completely in that scenario.
Other than that, these hats are in great shape. The bottom cymbal is crack free. Edges are about what you would expect from hats this old, but no major dents or crcaks on the edges. The overall appearance of these hats is very clean. There is a small spot of tape residue on the underside of the top cymbal.
These hats are a wonderful piece of cymbal history!
