1. Craviotto Sequoia 2750 years old. 1 of 3

Steve's notes: This is an incredible drum and one of only three that were ever produced. This is a 5.5x14 Craviotto snare drum made from 2,750 year old Sequoia. 24k gold plated hardware.

This Sequoia wood came from a tree that fell naturally and was legally harvested. This drum was built for the person who owned the wood. He had brought some of the wood to Johnny Craviotto in order to have some drums made. Prior to Johnny's passing only three drums were made. Two of those are in the hands of private collectors and are not for sale. This is the third drum and was sold by the owner of the wood to a client of mine. I recently acquired it from my client.

This instrument is not only a huge part of the Craviotto legacy, but is also a visually stunning piece that will have superb sonic properties given the age of the wood. I can attest to this personally, having played the other two drums. Johnny's Timeless Timber drums are the Stradivarius of snare drums and those were made from 600 year old Lake Superior wood. The Sequoia wood for these snares is 2,750 years old and even more sonically superb. Contact me at vintagedrums@aol.com for pricing information.
