ISTANBUL AGOP cymbals was established by
master cymbal maker Agop Tomurcuk in
1980. Agop Tomurcuk had started to work
at K. Zildjian factory operating in
Istanbul when he was around 9 years old
during early of 1950s and had leanrt all
the delicacy of the cymbal making skill
throughout this process and developed
it. Following closing of teh Firm K.
Zildjian in 1977, he established
ISTANBUL cymbals in 1980, and
transferred all his skills, knowledge
and opinions to that new firm. The
quality of ISTANBUL cymbals as well as
its acceptance world widely are the
result of the personality continuosly
looking for renovation and accepting as
an art what he has been doing.
