1. Gretsch RB snare collection

Incredible Gretsch Round Badge era snare drum collection. Now available.

A good friend of mine who is an avid Gretsch fan completed this collection many years ago. Not only is this a rare opportunity to own some incredible drums, but the visual display here is off the charts. Here's what we have: We've got all 3 Gretsch 14" Round Badge era pro level snare models, 4x14, 5.5x14, and 6.5x14 in each of these great sparkle finishes: Gold, Blue, Green, Silver and Red. All of these drums are original with the exception of different heads and in some cases newer snare wires. (One note: the 6.5x14 silver sparkle in the photos has the incorrect bottom rim, but the correct one is on its way).

Of course, the 4x14 snares (originally known as the Max Roach model and later as the Progressive Jazz model) are the rarest of all, then followed by the 6.5x14, and then the more commonly seen 5.5x14. In addition, gold sparkle and green sparkle are particularly difficult finishes to find, so that's another cool factor. My preferences for selling this collection are:

1) Would love to sell the entire collection intact to a Gretsch fan. This would certainly be the cornerstone of any serious Gretsch collection, to say nothing of the fact that these 15 drums in 5 different sparkle finishes create a visual work of art.

2) Absent selling the entire collection intact, I would consider selling individual sets of these drums. Right now I do not want to entertain breaking up any of the sets of 3. So, if you like gold sparkle, it would be all 3 drums, and the same is true for the rest of the sets.

Over the course of the next week or so I will be working on getting detailed photos and also video done for these, but if you are a Gretsch RB snare fan don't wait. Contact Steve at vintagedrums@aol.com for more details and pricing. Pricing will vary for each of the 3 sets, with gold and green carrying a premium that the rarity justifies. Of course, if you want to inquire about the entire lot of 15 drums please do so.  Can also text me at 630-865-6849.

Here are some quick pics to get things started:
