Recently we have added sound files for lots of drums and drum sets. These sound files are identified in the listing for items where we've created sound files. We will be adding more as time goes on, and will also be adding sound files for all of our cymbals as well. The idea of sound files is to give you the best possible idea of the sound of the item you are interested in. While we realize that a sound file isn't as good as hearing the item in person, it does give you a good idea of the sound and goes a long way toward helping you with a decision to buy.
In addition to the sound files we have with individual drums and sets, we also thought it would be a good idea to create a Sound Files section of the website that always maintains certain sound files. This will allow us to always have a sample on hand for these items since we routinely stock them, rather than having the sound file disappear once the item is sold. As a result, you can scroll down in this section to find files for many of our mainstay inventory items such as the Craviotto solid shell kit; Gretsch USA Custom bebop kit; Canopus bebop kit; DW bebop kit; and the Maxwell Drums bebop kit. And, we will be adding more as time goes on.
It is also important to us that our customers understand how we record these sound files:
We record these files "the old fashioned way". By that I mean the following: We use a simple set up with a MOTU Traveler interface, a pair of Octavia small diaphragm condenser mics as overheads, and an AKG D112 on the kick drum plugged directly into a small digital recorder and we record onto a compact flash card. That's it. No fancy tricks. Nothing but the actual sound of the instrument through the mics. You'll find sound files throughout the website and we clearly identify each item where we have a sound file present, and, you can scroll down to select some files right here as well. Here is a listing of the files in this section:
NOTE: When you start the sound file in the MP3 player section of the listings below the file will play through once. To replay the sound file just click on the sound file name within the MP3 player box, and then click the "play" arrow on the MP3 player.
