Zildjian 15" K. Istanbul Hi-Hats 1018 / 1074g
This is a pair of 1960s Intermediate Stamp Zildjian 15" K. Istanbul Hi-Hats, weighing in at 1018 & 1074g. First thing to note here is that there is a lathe crack in the bottom cymbal, i have digitally drawn a red circle around the this crack in the photo. There is also a very small crack coming from the center hole of the top cymbal. The center holes on these hats are at 12mm (compared to today's 13mm holes). It seems that if you wanted to grind out the center hole to about 15mm, you could fully grind out the crack.
Aside from the cracks, these hats are in great shape, still play well, and sound good. The edges are pretty smooth for their age. The bottom hat has its underside ink stamp mostly faded but visible if you look close. The top hat has its underside ink stamp plenty visible still.
A great piece of cymbal history!
Be sure to check out the sound file for these hats at the top right of the page!
