This is an incredible 2-in-1 Craviotto drum set with 8x12, 14x14, 14x16 bass drum, with BB/45 edges in solid maple shells. Kit #472. As we've demonstrated on videos of other 2-in-1 Craviotto kits, these sets allow you to get the advantage of two different sounds within one set. The batter side has the rounded BB edge for fewer overtones and a warmer attack, but the sharper 45 edge on the resonant side provides all the projection and articulation you would want. The placement of the bass drum and floor tom brackets is in the center of the drums, which allows you to then flip these over and play the set as 45/BB so you get the sharper, brighter attack with the 45 edge as the batter side, with the warmer resonance of the BB edge for the resonant side.? Or, just switch the toms and leave the bass drum as is, or vice versa. Incredible flexibility. And, the kit looks perfect either way thanks to the new Craviotto badge that spells out "Craviotto" right side up and also upside down, so no matter which way you set up the kit the badge is correct. A little educational info as well: The 14x16 bass drum is one of the best kept secrets going. With a Craviotto solid steam bent shell the tuning range is huge and resonance is superb. So, a 16 Craviotto bass drum can be a bop bass drum and can tune down to 20" range easily. AND, the 14x16 is $1000 less costly than a 14x18 but the sound is still huge.
