Craviotto. Steve's overview of 2015

2015 marks the start of Johnny Craviotto's second decade of the Craviotto Drum Company. We're proud to support Johnny and we continue to be his largest dealer worldwide. 2015 brings new products that we're very excited about. And, the strategy behind the creation of these new 2015 products focuses on being able to bring the incredible sound of solid shell drums to an even larger market. As a result, Johnny has created products at a lower price point so that the Craviotto experience can become a reality for even more players. Of course, Johnny's high end custom drums are incredible and each set is built to order by hand, one at a time. These new mid line offerings are every bit as incredible since the same solid shell process is used, and each drum is built by hand. But, by offering standardized products in a more limited range of sizes and finishes Johnny can increase production while also lowering manufacturing costs, which results in a price point for these products that will enable a wider audience of players to experience the Craviotto sound.

The new 2015 products that target this mid line strategy are the following:

1) CENTER STAGE drum set:

The new Craviotto Center Stage drum set brings you all of the fantastic Craviotto features you've come to love, in a new, compact offering at a fantastic price point. The Craviotto Center Stage sets feature Johnny's solid maple shells with inlay with 45 degree edges. These shells have all of the resonance, articulation and tuning range that you've come to love, and the new center lug design reduces weight and increases the already incredible sustain and projection. The new shallower depth also enables the drums to speak quickly. The set is offered in satin maple and in the following sizes: 7x10, 12x14 floor tom, and your choice of either a 12x18 or 12x20 bass drum. The small footprint makes it easy to fit into even the smallest venue, but the sound is huge thanks to Johnny's solid shells. And, the MAP (selling) price for either the 12/14/18 or 12/14/20 is only $3600. Imagine, a 3 pc solid shell kit with shells rolled by the "master" himself for just $3600. Call now because we are already ordering these sets. Reserve one today!  See the new Center Stage drum set: HERE.

2) Johnny C series snare drums:

Here is a new take on an old favorite. This is the solid shell snare drum "work horse". This series was previously known as the Diamond Cast series. Craviotto is re-launching this series as the Johnny C series. This is the same solid maple shell with Trick GS007 strainer, but with a newly designed lug and an incredible MAP (selling price) of only $649!! Available in 5.5x14 or 6.5x14 and with 45/45 bearing edges. Now, you can have Johnny's solid shell performance at an incredible price point. Let this snare be your entry into the world of Craviotto solid shells drums. This drum takes you from live venues to studio work and is perfect for any musical style, and at an incredible price as well. Call us to reserve one today because we are ordering them now. JUST $649!! See the Johnny C series snare drums HERE.

3) Super Swing snare drum:

The Super Swing snare drum was introduced late in 2014 and is now in full production for 2015. This drum is a tribute to the 40s era solid shell snares such as the Radio Kings as well as the solid shell snares produced by Ludwig. About two years ago I asked Johnny to do a small run of snares like this, but we did those with AK three point strainers and various different woods. The Super Swing now being offered is a standardized version of that small run and as a result the price point is excellent and the sound is still incredible. This a 7x14 solid maple snare with inlay, 45 degree edges, and walnut stained wood hoops. This is the perfect solution for those of you who have been looking for that fat, warm vintage sound. No need to search high and low for a vintage snare from that era. We have the 7x14 Super Swing ready for you and only $995. See the Super Swing HERE. See Steve's video of the Super Swing HERE.

4) Solitaire snare drum:

Originally introduced in late 2014, this drum is now in full production for 2015. The Solitaire is an innovative new metal shell offering from the one-ply, Solid Shell specialists, the  Solitaire Series represents everything you know and love about the Craviotto Drum Company Company.  The Solitaire snare drum is rich on innovation and craftsmanship, and features a price point geared towards providing working drummers with a handmade, boutique metal shell offering of unparalleled quality.

Craviotto’s Solitaire Series was designed to perform flawlessly in all musical applications. As with all Craviotto Drums, the secret to our sound is contained within our shells.

The Solitaire snare drum begins with a premium thin-wall, aero-grade aluminum shell that is cast and hand-rolled in the USA.  The Solitaire’s aluminum shell provides uncompromised strength, surprising warmth, unquestioned clarity, and substantial body with enhanced mid-range projection.

Solitaire snare drums feature our innovative dual diamond venting system modeled after our signature wood inlays found on our one-ply, solid shell wood Custom Shop drums.

Solitaire snare drums also feature Craviotto’s new, low mass single-point diamond tube lug.  Like all Craviotto tube lugs, our single-point diamond tube lug is made of solid brass and is made in the USA.

The Solitaire Series shell speaks clearly from the softest whisper to the loudest roar making it truly versatile for all performance applications and environments.   The Solitaire is also incredibly microphone friendly, making it the obvious choice for artists and studios.

Available as 5.5x14 or 6.5x14 in either matte black or pewter for only $795. See the Solitaire series HERE. See Steve's video of this series HERE.
