Pearl Art Blakey's 1985 Pearl drum set and cymbals

This is an amazing set that we have in our NY store. This set belonged to Art Blakey. It was used one time, for the DVD One Night With Blue Note in 1985. Art was performing in England and was flown in for the recording in NY. This drum set was sent down from Pearl and Zildjian sent the cymbals. The set was used for the DVD and then only one other time by Art for a family event, after which they were packed in cases until now. The set is being sold by us for Art Blakey Jr's widow. The drums consist of Pearl maple shell 8x12, 9x13, 14x14, 14x18, 7x14 snare. The set also includes the K. Zildjian 14" hats, one 20" K Zildjian Ride, one 20" K Zildjian Light Ride; one 22" Zildjian Ride and one 22" K Zildjian Ride, and (not shown) a 20" K Zildjian Flat Ride. The cymbal bag is also included. Stands are all Pearl and include the snare stand, HH stand, bass drum pedal, 3 floor cymbal stands and 1 floor boom cymbal stand. Also, the original fiber cases are included for the 5 drums. There is also a program from the Feb 22, 1985 event and two backstage passes and a poster as well. Historically significant and the only one of its kind. The drums and cymbals are exactly as they were when we removed them. Dusty, but I can't bring myself to dust them off; gotta leave the old "mojo" there. Basically New Old Stock. Of course, this set isn't one of Art's Gretsch sets, and it wasn't used for extensive touring, but this is still jazz history. Owned and used by one of the greatest drummers of all time, and, Art was one of our most influential band leaders who was responsible for launching many careers. Great vibe and cool history. Video clip is down below as well. You'll see the kit near the end of the clip.
